Ruth (on the left) and I took a bus trip out to the east side of Paraguay to help with the games for a youth retreat among an indigenous people group.
80 Youth filled the church building which is in the background
They had a great time together.
And the weather was beautiful and naturally hot.
Ruth and I slept in the tent which was snuggled under this roof due to evening rain. What you can’t see are the holes chewed in the tent by rats, it was old but worked just fine with a little extra protection.
There is neither running water nor electricity in most of the village. This was the girl’s “shower” for the retreat and in the background you can see the well. The boys were sent to the river to wash up.
However, there is electricity in the school building where the teens slept and here is the all import cell phone power supply…
I am so thankful for the time with these fellow believers in Christ and especially thankful for the opportunity to build a friendship with Ruth (on left) who lives nearby me and has a great passion for the Lord and for life.
