Last Friday was our sweet Selah’s 3rd birthday! Where has the time gone??? I know those of you reading with teenagers or grown children are asking the same thing, maybe even wondering why I am asking that question after just 3 short years. Time really does have it’s way of zooming right along, often without even having the chance to realize what is happening.
Selah is a fun, energetic, and very inquisitive little girl. If I had a penny for every time she asked the question “why?” I’d be rich. If I’m honest, I’d tell you that sometimes I get really tired of answering questions. However, I must remember that every time she asks a question, she is learning a little bit more. A few days after her birthday we decided to ask her a few questions. Here are a few of them:
What is your favorite color? Purple
Who is your best friend? Ruby and Judah
Where do you live? In this house (I personally love this answer!)
What makes you happy? A baby
How old are you? 6
What are you afraid of? The baby
What baby? I can’t remember
How do you help Mama? Wash dishes and help with baby
What is your favorite food? Macanoni (as she pronounces it) and cheese
Who is Jesus? I can’t remember
God has and is using Selah to teach us…A LOT! She can be rather stubborn at times, but when I become frustrated at this I am quickly reminded of how stubborn I can be. Despite my stubbornness, my Heavenly Father is patient and loving with me!
This evening as we were on our way to Walmart, Selah was talking about going to “Kanzania” (as she calls it). She was saying how she can’t wait to go there to learn more about Jesus! Although she is still so young, I can already see God at work in her little heart. Our prayer is that we would raise her, along with Miriam and Gideon to know, love and serve Jesus.
Happy Birthday, my sweet Selah Grace! So thankful the Lord blessed our family with you! He has BIG plans for your life and I can’t wait to watch them unfold.
Thanks for reading about our birthday girl!
