People have always told me (Jamie) that they appreciate how real I am. I am pretty quick to share my fears and failures. I figure, hey, if I feel it or think it, I might as well share it with someone. On top of that, I tend to veer on the side being a half-empty kind of gal. The problem with this combination is that it can be really easy for me to focus on struggles. Yes, I try to share what God is teaching me through all of the struggles, but I really want to work on simply sharing the praises a little more. The good things that God is doing – because there are a lot of good things He is doing!
So here we go.
This blog is a tribute to all of you. Our family. Our friends. New and Old. Even to those of you who we don’t even know.
On a daily basis YOU are making sacrifices for our family. Sacrifices so that we can be a part of bringing the message of HOPE to the least reached in Tanzania.
What is a sacrifice? Check out this awesome definition:
an act of giving up something valued
for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy.
Here are the things YOU are sacrificing:
YOUR time to meet with us
YOUR time to watch our children so we can share with others
YOUR time to read about what is going on in our lives
YOUR time PRAYING for us
YOUR money – It’s not cheap for a family of 5 to live overseas
YOUR food when we come to visit
YOUR home when we come to visit
YOUR talents to help further our ministry
YOUR wisdom when we are in need
(I feel quite certain that this list could go on and on)
THANK YOU
Thank you for giving up the things that you value because you see what we are doing as worthy. We long for the day when we are writing from Tanzania to share how God is changing lives because of your sacrifice. For now, we will keep sharing how HE is changing our lives, because boy do we need it!
Making Him Known,
Jamie (for the Sharpes)
We are praying for you. And we thank God for using you in this may He continue to use you.
Thank you, Peter! That means so much. Hope you are doing well!
