Here’s the scoop from Pal land.

• The paper chain in the picture represents the days until Grandma and Grandpa Hostetter come to visit. We’re looking forward to seeing them, (it’s been almost 2 and a half years).
• Our coworkers Axel and Sandra Fachner are proud to announce the birth of Lilly Valeska Fachner on January 23rd. The middle name is in honor of her great-great-grandmother who was a believer with a great testimony. They are healthy and doing well and we look forward to their return to Pal later this spring.
• Bailey Joy Hostetter turned 3 years old on January 26th. Maybe now she’ll stop having ‘accidents’. 🙂
• We’re two weeks into our 2nd literacy class and two graduates from our 1st class are heading up the teaching. They’re doing a fabulous job and it’s been a joy to watch them daily grow more confident and comfortable in their new roles.
• In less than a month Chris and Nate will be having their first (and only) lesson writing check. We’ll each teach two lessons at that time to a couple folks and the consultant will be checking to see if we’re communicating God’s truth clearly.
• At that time we’ll also be having translation consultants here and it will be the first translation check for Maggie and I. Maggie will be getting the Noah story checked, and the first 6 chapters of Exodus. I’ll be getting Exodus 7-10 checked. Our coworker Nate Claasen will be having portions of Genesis checked.
• After the checks we’ll be heading out of the tribe to await the grandparents arrival!
