<\/p>\nI figure if I start with an uninspiring title, then it’s much harder to be disappointed by the content of the post.\u00a0 But if I throw out a catchy click-bait title and the post does not live up to its name, then disappointment abounds.\u00a0 So now that I have set the bar as low as my 8-year old gymnast can do the limbo, I can write anything and the worst that will happen is that the content of this post merely matches the excitement the title elicits.<\/p>\n
We’re currently trudgin’ through the drudgery of a Minnesotan January. The snow totals have been frustratingly low, the temps tragically lower, and medical progress seems at a standstill.\u00a0 After a busy November and December visiting various doctors and enduring different tests, January has been . . . boring.\u00a0 Which has left me a lot of time to ponder and ask, “What is God doing with us?” I don’t have an answer for that question, but I do know that He is working all things for my good (cause I love the Lord).\u00a0 Through all the despondent pondering, God has graciously reminded me of a few things. First, life aint just too bad.\u00a0 I’ve got a roof over my head, and food in the fridge, not to mention four cool kids, a loving spouse, and fantastic friends, one who gave us a place to live and tolerates our incessant stomping above them all day long.\u00a0 Also, God has reminded me that we have hundreds (maybe thousands) of people praying for us, encouraging us, and ready to do just about anything else for us we might need.\u00a0 God has also provided a great opportunity here to enjoy hours upon hours of nearly uninterrupted office time.\u00a0 An opportunity that has allowed me to tackle Pal projects that I would never have made time for were I still in PNG.\u00a0 Or at the very least, I would have accomplished them at a much slower pace on the other side of the ocean.\u00a0 And on top of all that, I get to be stateside to see the greatest football team in the history of the universe stomp on the Patriots in the Superbowl.<\/p>\n
So we have a choice to make.\u00a0 We could grumble about the weather, and despair over our medical situation, or we can thank God for all His blessings and focus on being faithful to what He has called us to do here, now, today. It’s sunny and 40 today, so I guess grumbling about the weather is out.<\/p>\n
February brings some more medical tests.\u00a0 A muscle biopsy and a trip to the Mayo clinic!\u00a0 Pray for answers, healing, wisdom, contentment, snow, and whatever else for us that God lays on your heart. Peace.<\/p>\n
