{"id":437,"date":"2012-01-18T18:28:28","date_gmt":"2012-01-18T22:28:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chris-hostetter\/?p=437"},"modified":"2012-01-18T18:28:28","modified_gmt":"2012-01-18T22:28:28","slug":"wusuraambya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chris-hostetter\/2012\/01\/18\/wusuraambya\/","title":{"rendered":"Wusuraambya!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re off on Bush Orientation Monday, January 23.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll be 6 weeks in Wusuraambya, a tribe where there&#8217;s another missionary family working and an established Church.\u00a0 It&#8217;s about a half hour flight from here on one of NTMA&#8217;s little planes.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll continue our Tok Pisin study while there and also spend time following the missionaries around and learning from them.\u00a0 The house we&#8217;ll be staying in is powered by solar panels so we&#8217;ll get to see how our family copes with limited power.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure Maggie will be following the kids around turning lights off behind them.\u00a0 If we want hot water, I have to build a fire.\u00a0 Also, the house has a wood stove and we&#8217;re told we&#8217;ll be wanting to use it.\u00a0 I would never have thought we&#8217;d be seeing and using a wood stove in Papua New Guinea. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chris-hostetter\/files\/2012\/01\/100_1430.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-438\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chris-hostetter\/files\/2012\/01\/100_1430-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chris-hostetter\/files\/2012\/01\/100_1430-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chris-hostetter\/files\/2012\/01\/100_1430-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This week as we&#8217;ve been preparing for Bush Orientation we&#8217;ve had the privilege of doing grocery shopping for 6 weeks of food.\u00a0 Word is, the locals will bring us sweet potatoes and greens but otherwise we have to take all our food in with us.\u00a0 So, if our planning is lacking, you know what we&#8217;ll be eating the last couple weeks in the bush.<\/p>\n<p>I believe we&#8217;ll have some internet access while there, but I&#8217;m not entirely certain on that.\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t see another blog post until March, well, you&#8217;ll know we didn&#8217;t have internet access.<\/p>\n<p>In other news, tonight we&#8217;ll be hearing about the Gulf, a region southwest of here where leadership would like to see a team of new missionaries go.\u00a0 If that is where God would have us go, pray that it is made clear to us.\u00a0 There are a couple &#8216;new&#8217;
