“With Christian’s roots being in Sub-Saharan Africa, our desire is to discern the ways God is already at work in the Central Africa region, and to determine how our family can engage in that work. This vision is shared by our mission organization, who states in their “African Vision” statement, “We know that God is the One that is seeking to make Himself known through the people groups of Africa, and that He is doing this through His Church. As we seek out evidence of God at work, we fully expect to find His people in Africa already active in pursuing the fulfillment of the Great Commission. It is in that context that we will be able to determine our role in assisting the Church, serving the Church and partnering with the Church in seeing mature churches established and reaching out among the least reached peoples of Africa.“

First Term Ministry Objectives

  • Learn the national language and culture. While the country we will serve in has 4 languages of wider communication, Christian already speaks 2 of them. We will begin by learning Swahili.
  • Build relationships within local churches. Engaging well with believers is an essential first step to effective ministry among the least reached within the country.
  • Begin to understand the Gospel need and how those needs can be best met in partnership with the church.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Second Term Ministry Objectives

  • Working with local churches we will prayerfully consider and strategize how we can best equip and expand the local church among the least reached people groups in Central Africa.
  • People Group Assessments will better aid us to understand which areas are most in need of the Gospel and the least likely to receive it without a targeted effort.
  • This strategy could include church planting teams in settings where there is no Bible- preaching church; theological and cross-cultural training for local believers, translation of Scripture, and even literacy.
 

 

 

 

Long Term Ministry Goals

 

Our family is committed to following the Lord’s calling on our lives. We recognize that engaging in cross-cultural church planting with the goal of churches moving towards ever increasing maturity will require the better part of our lives. And yet, Jesus taught in John 12:24, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”

“until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.”
