Who we are…
My name is Chuck Hodges, and I’ve been happily married to my amazing wife, Megan, for 14 years. I grew up in South Texas and came to know the Lord at an early age. During high school, I began to truly understand who God is and what it means to follow Him. Since then, God has taken me on an incredible journey.
I developed a passion for missions in 2004 when I started my healthcare career. Over the past two decades, I’ve primarily worked as a paramedic, gaining experience in EMS on 911 ambulances, emergency departments, and as a flight paramedic. As my interest in missions deepened, I decided to pursue my registered nursing license to expand opportunities for service. I’m excited to graduate in December 2024, which will allow us to fully step into our calling in missions. Looking ahead, I’ll be serving in the medical clinic in Papua New Guinea, and I’m eager to see how God will use us to support and encourage the work of missionaries in the field.
My wife, Megan, was raised to know and worship the Lord from a young age in rural Kansas. She loves Jesus dearly, but when she heard about missionaries in “the jungle” at various points throughout her life, she often prayed that God would please consider someone else for that position. Megan knows God’s sense of humor on a personal level now and through God’s transformative power and grace is truly honored to serve Him in “the jungle”. She has homeschooled our children from the start of their school years while ministering to kids and adults within our church through music. In Papua New Guinea, she will primarily be caring for our young daughter and utilizing her teaching experience in the missionary school.
The Kids

Our oldest son, Hunter, is a ball of energy and creativity. He loves sports, art, photography, and just being his goofy, fun-loving self. We often joke that he went straight from crawling to sprinting! Hunter is our daredevil, always drawn to speed and adventure. He has a knack for building ramps out of anything he can find and loves testing them out with his fearless jumps.
Hunter is excited about meeting new people and making new friends, though he’s a little sad to leave his current ones behind. His adventurous spirit and kind heart make him a joy to be around, and we can’t wait to see how he continues to grow and thrive.
JJ is our second son and the middle child. He’s our thoughtful bookworm who loves to get lost in a good story. While he enjoys playing football, riding bikes, and jumping on the trampoline, you’ll most often find him curled up with a book. JJ also has a gift for conversation—I like to call him “John Madden 2.0” because he can give a detailed play-by-play about almost anything!
Recently, we had a conversation about inflation and the state of the economy, and he surprised me with his insightful ideas. JJ is excited about the adventure ahead and eager to learn new things, though he’s understandably a little nervous about settling into a new area. His curiosity and love for learning make him an incredible kid.
Emmalyne, or Emma, is our youngest and only daughter. She’s a delightful blend of both her older brothers’ personalities. One moment, she’s quietly reading a book, and the next, she’s trying to body-slam her brothers in a burst of playful energy.
Emma is a little chatterbox, always full of observations and comments about everything she sees while we’re driving. She has a love for shoes and dressing up, but she’s just as happy digging in the dirt right alongside her brothers. Her dynamic personality keeps us on our toes and fills our days with laughter and joy.
Our Work as Missionaries
In 2024, we felt God calling our family to missions. It all began when a couple from Ethnos360 Aviation visited our church and shared a presentation about the vital work Ethnos360 is doing and the needs they have. That presentation opened our eyes to how our current skills and careers could directly translate to the mission field.
After further conversations with Ethnos360, we learned about a base in Papua New Guinea that urgently needs both teachers and nurses. It felt like the perfect fit—almost too logical to ignore. After much prayer and discernment, we applied and are now preparing to serve in Papua New Guinea. We are excited to step into this new chapter and see how God will use our family to support His work.
