{"id":675,"date":"2012-04-13T03:30:37","date_gmt":"2012-04-12T19:30:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chuck-shannon-talbot\/?p=675"},"modified":"2012-04-13T03:59:33","modified_gmt":"2012-04-12T19:59:33","slug":"birds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chuck-shannon-talbot\/2012\/04\/13\/birds\/","title":{"rendered":"Birds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>People are often asking us how we are adjusting to being back in Canada.&nbsp; I feel like we are doing great.&nbsp; But there are things the kids say that remind me that we live in a different part of the world while in the Philippines.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s Spring in Ontario and one of the best parts of springtime is seeing all the birds come back to Ontario.&nbsp; We have watched flocks of geese in the air many days when the weather was really warm.&nbsp; We are so blessed by having many bird feeders in the back yard that we can watch the blue jays, and robins come to eat.&nbsp; We even have charts by the back window to help us identify some of the many birds that come our way.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chuck-shannon-talbot\/files\/2012\/04\/101_3574.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 5px;border: 0px currentcolor;padding-top: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-left: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"101_3574\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chuck-shannon-talbot\/files\/2012\/04\/101_3574_thumb.jpg\" width=\"328\" height=\"484\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We have also noticed the many seagulls here.&nbsp; Just a couple days after we arrived, Jenna saw a bird flying in the sky and said, \u201cchicken!\u201d&nbsp; It reminded me that we don\u2019t see seagulls in the Philippines.&nbsp; I then thought of how few birds we do see.<\/p>\n<p>A normal day in the village starts and ends with the sounds of roosters crowing.&nbsp; Actually those sounds only end when I finally fall asleep.&nbsp; Many nights I will wake to hearing the roosters crowing even in the dark.&nbsp; And the sun being up doesn\u2019t stop them from crowing either.&nbsp; We sure don\u2019t miss the sounds of those roosters.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chuck-shannon-talbot\/files\/2012\/04\/IMG_5417.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor;padding-top: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-left: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"IMG_5417\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chuck-shannon-talbot\/files\/2012\/04\/IMG_5417_thumb.jpg\" width=\"362\" height=\"484\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chuck-shannon-talbot\/files\/2012\/04\/P1000979.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 5px;border: 0px currentcolor;padding-top: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-left: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"P1000979\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chuck-shannon-talbot\/files\/2012\/04\/P1000979_thumb.jpg\" width=\"421\" height=\"319\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Every day we see many hens and their chicks wandering around looking for something to eat.&nbsp; It is fun to watch the chicks grow as the weeks go on.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chuck-shannon-talbot\/files\/2012\/04\/IMG_5448.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 5px;border: 0px currentcolor;padding-top: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-left: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"IMG_5448\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/chuck-shannon-talbot\/files\/2012\/04\/IMG_5448_thumb.jpg\" width=\"424\" height=\"273\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The only other birds we see are the odd bird that someone had killed to eat.&nbsp; We don\u2019t see fancy parrots or birds flying from tree to tree.<\/p>\n<p>So this spring we will take time to enjoy all the birds we can see.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>People are often asking us how we are adjusting to being back in Canada.&nbsp; I feel like we are doing great.&nbsp; But there are things the kids say that remind me that we live in a different part of the world while in the Philippines.
