Camp Pearl and July ended together this year. We had a great six weeks of camp ministry. It was a blessing to work with so many people with a common desire to see God honored and campers “bumped closer to Christ.” We had a phenomenal team of people at camp this year, but it is God who made our work productive. Christ’s work in the lives of many campers was so clear. What an awesome summer!
During the two weeks since camp ended, I have been resting and spending time with people in my church. Next week, I will travel back up to Missouri for my third semester of New Tribes Mission’s Church Planting training course. I’m excited to continue my missions education. New Tribes focuses on planting indigenous churches among people groups around the world that have never had access to the gospel of Christ. We see this goal as an important part of obeying Christ’s Great Commission.
I’m excited with the lineup of classes this semester. Some of them, such as “Dobu” and “Phonemics” are geared to equip us to study and understand the culture and language of those we will someday serve. Others, such as “Missionary Tech 2” and “Simple Living,” will help us learn to survive in the remote locations in which those people groups live.
Please pray for us this semester! Most students are not able to get regular work while in training, so finances are an issue for many of us. Please also pray that we as students would be dedicated and focused, not losing sight of the goal Christ has given to us. Pray that in every way, the Lord would be honored in each of our lives.
Thanks!
