As I walked across the Camp Pearl lawn, I couldn’t help feeling like I had come home. \u00a0The past three summers at Camp Pearl had been good ones. \u00a0Good and Difficult. \u00a0Camp is the hardest thing I purposefully do in life, but the profound rewards make every task and challenge well worth the effort. \u00a0Those memories — the fellowship, the obstacles, the victories, the defeats — anchor me to this place. \u00a0I’m as much at home here as anywhere else in the world. \u00a0Christ is at work here at Camp Pearl. \u00a0This is his mission field, as much as if it were West Africa or Central Asia, and I wouldn’t give up the next six weeks here for anything.<\/p>\n
This summer, we will have campers ranging from high school through 3rd grade. \u00a0Each age group has its challenges and it’s opportunities. \u00a0Please pray that the Lord will use all of us here at Camp Pearl as he works in the lives of these young people. \u00a0Please pray that we will remember that it is his work and depend on him for strength and wisdom. \u00a0Sometimes, working from home, it can be easy to forget.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
