What a month it has been. The Lord has blessed us so much. More than we could have even imagined. It is always such an AWESOME experience to watch the Lord work on our behalf. We want to thank you so much for your prayers and for your financial support, with the help of God’s children we are getting closer to Paraguay.
At the beginning of the month our home church held a faith promise to help us raise our support level. In our February newsletter we shared that we were at 34% of our recommended support level. On Sunday March 4th, the total for our faith promise was announced. We were nervous and excited all at the same time, waiting to see how the Lord had worked in the hearts of our church family. The amount was enough to raise our support to 49%. Thank you so much to our church family for stepping out in faith to help us get to the field. We are so thankful to be serving with you all. We are getting so close to that 70% mark and would appreciate your prayers as we wait on the Lord for 21%. That is $1125.00 per month. Maybe the Lord could use you to help us reach the 21% that we need to leave for the field. As you know we were making plans to leave for Paraguay in June. Since we are not even over 50% we have decided, with much prayer and wisdom from our Pastor, we are looking at September instead. We are continually learning that our calendar is not His calendar. We know that He will get us to Paraguay in His time. All He asks of us is to follow faithfully! Please pray that the Lord would give us wisdom as we go through all of our things; wisdom as to what to keep for the states, what to take to Paraguay and what to part with. Please also pray that we can gain some more opportunities to share about the ministry in Paraguay and for the Lord to provide Missions Minded Christians to join our support team. Please prayerfully consider how the Lord may want you to be involved in helping us reach Paraguayans for Christ. We would love for you to join our team, please feel free to contact us if you would like to know more about joining our team or would just like to know more.
This past month we were able to spend some time with Colton’s brother and his boys. We headed to Reptiland and then on to The Country Cupboard in Lewisburg PA. The kids truly enjoyed seeing all the reptiles and spending time with their cousins. We are so glad that they have this time together as they will not see each other for quite a while after we leave for Paraguay.
NEWS FROM PARAGUAY
One Blade at a Time
“Jon Quast was watching a gardener at work. The local man had been hired to plant grass. But surprisingly, he was not using seed or sod. Instead, without any complaint, he patiently planted an entire yard in a very different way. Individual blades of grass with roots attached were carefully placed in the soil one by one. “He literally planted the entire yard one blade of grass at a time. It took more than two 10-hour days to finish,” Jon wrote. A fruit of God’s Spirit’s work in our lives is patience. Jon and Jen Quast have spent years of waiting in preparation for ministry. They have known years of what seem to be delays. Jon shares that these delays ar actually opportunities to wait on God and trust Him for His perfect timing. The Quast family is currently in Paraguay investing their lives in culture and language studies, waiting for God’s time to proceed into tribal ministry. Jon and Jen realize that the times of delay are only lost if they choose to dwell “in the earthly real of frustration.” Jon shares further, “The cool thing is, God doesn’t put timetables on that He is working all things out for good in our lives.” Pray for Jon and Jen Quast and their children as they study and learn and grow in preparation for tribal ministry in whatever place God has planned for them. Pray also for other missionaries who are currently being prepared by God for tribal ministry. Pray that God will encourage them to give them grace to trust His timing and work, while He faithfully plants His lawn. Even when He does it one blade of grass at a time.” – Cathy Drobnick
