Matthew 1:21 ~ “She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Dear Faithful Prayer Partners,
Merry Christmas; or as they say in Paraguay, Feliz Navidad! We are always grateful for this time of year as we celebrate the true reason for the season. Jesus came to earth as a babe to save us from our sins and we are so excited to be heading to Paraguay as we will eventually (once we have learned the language) be able to share this Great Message with those who have never heard. We want to thank you so much for the part that you all play in helping us get to Paraguay and keeping us there. We are so grateful for your prayers and support. Thank you again for being on our team.
WE ARE SO EXCITED TO SHARE WITH YOU ALL SOME REALLY EXCITING NEWS! But first we will share where we are with our support. We are currently at 69% ($3697) which only leaves us with 1% ($54) left to raise monthly. We were able to share with one Church this month, a big thank you to Higher Hope Church for having us come. We are still in need of finances for our start-up costs. Those finances will go towards our security deposit and first month rent, appliances, furniture, government paperwork, and everything else that goes with starting a new life in another country. With that being said, here comes the exciting news! WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE OKAY TO HEAD TO PARAGUAY IN FEBRUARY! We are having our Commissioning Service on January 27, 2013 at 10:30 AM, with the People’s Baptist Church in Newfield, NY. We would love to have you join us! Words cannot express how excited and nervous we are. There is a lot that needs to be done and are looking forward to the Lord bringing it all together. Please continue to Pray for our family and our ministry as we prepare to leave in February!
We have really enjoyed our Christmas this year with our family. The kids all enjoyed their Christmas Day and were up at 5 am impatiently waiting. We also were able to enjoy quite a bit of snow the Lord sent our way, the kids were so excited to get out there and play in it. We enjoyed many birthdays this month, our son Noah turned 6 this month. We cannot believe how fast the years go by. We can’t wait to see what the Lord has for our family in the coming year.
JUST A THOUGHT
Many people ask how we feel about leaving for Paraguay and leaving our family, friends, church, and life behind here in the states. Our reply is always the same. We are excited to see what God is going to do with us down there. But there is still a lot of fear that comes with that excitement. This fear makes you wonder if you are making the right choice for you, your family, and your life. This fear makes you doubt that the Lord will provide for your needs while you are there, or ask, “ will there be danger around every corner?” These are just some of the questions that I (Colton) have asked myself as I am sure every person has asked him or herself. Now that I have unveiled my heart to you, I want you to know that I am trusting in the Lord to provide for our needs. This is a promise that He has given us in His Word, as it says in Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We don’t have to fear danger because we know God will protect us as it says in Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? God’s Word is full of promises that we as believers can claim and use to remind ourselves of how much God loves us, wants to use us, and work in us. As for making the right choice for my family, the way I see it is that if it brings Glory to God then it is the right choice.
– As we prepare to leave for Paraguay. We still need funds for our start-up costs, for speed in getting our Paperwork done, and for all the packing we still have left to do.
– For the Lord to prepare our hearts for what He has for us in Paraguay. New friendships, new Church family, new Language, new Culture. There are going to be a lot of new things for us.
– As we say good bye to family, friends, and our Church family.
– That our hearts would not fear, but remember the promises that He has for us. Satan will try his best to defeat us but we must not give in to him.
– We will be trying to sell our van beginning in February, please pray that it would sell quickly.
We want to thank all of you who are praying for us. It means so much to us. We appreciate you all and pray the Lord’s richest blessings on you!
