Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Salmos 119:105 – Lámpara es a mis pies tu palabra, y lumbrera a mi camino.
Dear Faithful Prayer Partners,
We have now been in Paraguay for 4 months. It seems like our time here so far is just flying by. We have been enjoying getting to learn how to live and communicate in our new culture even though it can be stressful at times. It is hard to communicate something when you don’t know how to speak the language very well and it can be very stressful trying to just live in a culture that doesn’t always work in a way that may seem normal to you. Something else we find very stressful is just juggling our family time and study time, we always want to make sure our family comes first but there are times when study doesn’t get enough time. We are encouraged though as we are slowly piecing this together, but would still love prayer for this area. Please pray for strength and wisdom as we try to fit everything together. We have experienced some cool things this month and can’t wait for you to read about them below. We want to thank you so much for praying and supporting us. Our task is a team effort and we are glad you can be a part of it.
We are so thankful to all who have been giving to our ministry faithfully. Since arriving in Paraguay we have jumped from 72% to 76%. The Lord never ceases to show us that He will take care of us. Would you please prayerfully consider how the Lord of the Harvest may have you be involved with our ministry?
The kids have been doing well. They just finished their first quarter of school at Escuela Bautista de Herrera. They all received very good marks on their report cards, which is a huge answer to prayer. We would ask that you please continue to pray for children as they have started their second quarter. Please also pray for them as they are still adjusting to the language, as that affects their homework. The homework also helps Mom and Dad with learning the language.
VISITING THE MAKA
Sunday Morning Service. This service was something special for them as they were receiving the whole New Testament in their own language, printed and bound. They also received the book of Genesis and part of Exodus. After the service we enjoyed some entertainment from the Maka people. Some of the men and women did some ceremonial dances for us. We were then served a nice meal. We were so blessed to be able to see this and are excited for the Maka people as they get to hold a bound and printed copy of their own Bible. Please continue to Pray for the Maka as they read and apply God’s word to their lives.
DOWN THE ROAD
We want to make you aware of some things that are going to be coming up in our lives here, so that you can bring them before the Lord.
– We each have our first language evaluation in the beginning of August.
– This may seem early but in reality it is only about 9 months away. We will be starting our 2nd round of paperwork to be able to live here in Paraguay. This paperwork is not cheap; it will cost about $2400.00.
We want to thank you for reading our updates. We appreciate all the prayers and support that you give on our behalf.
