Dear Ministry Partners, Family and Friends,
Greetings from ¼ of the 4C’s here at the National Training Center in Asia-Pacific (A-P). Many of you have been praying for my trip here. I made it with out incident. I spent about 25 hours in the airplanes and about 17 hours in the airports. I arrived here around 10 PM A-P time. I was too late making reservations for the transit hotel in Singapore so I found many things to do there. It is like a huge shopping mall, but most of the stores were closed until 6 AM. Many of the food places were open so I was fine in that department. They have free internet stations all over, as well as stations for plugging in your laptop. This enabled me to take care of some business as well as communicate with Cheryl and the kids at home.
Today I began teaching. We have 13 students on campus in our first year program. I am teaching on raising children. We started by splitting into 3 small groups. Each group discussed what they hope to accomplish in raising kids. What do they want their kids to turn out to be like? Once they came up with a bunch of ideas we discussed it as a class. Most of them were good thoughts. Tomorrow we look at some Biblical bases for what they came up. Then we will begin to look at what the Bible tells us about accomplishing these goals.
Tonight we had small get together with all the staff families bringing something for a potluck dinner. It was nice to get some different foods that we don’t often get in the US. I don’t think I will have to worry about getting too thin while I’m here. The folks here made a meal schedule and so far I’m covered up until Saturday evening.
Well it’s just after 9 PM and I am zonked, ready for bed.
Thanks for praying. Keep praying for me here and Cheryl and the kids in NH.
