Dearest Friends,
Hello again from the Cassel house where we are now counting the days till our return to Asia-Pacific. That is a bit difficult to get the exact days as we have not yet finalized our tickets … we are estimating that we will be flying in 66 days (July 27th). Cody had a couple of math lessons where he learned when it is good to be exact and when it is good to estimate. All I can say here is our return date will be exactly when God says so. Please do continue to pray with us about all we have going on until then. Thanks so much! So far we have $100 given specifically for our tickets back to the field.
Craig wanted me to write a bit about our school situation once we get settled. As I already shared with some of you, I am nervous this time. Cody will be ready for 6th grade (IF he can keep his math and health grades up) and Cheyenne will be ready for 1st grade (If we can talk her into returning with us and not staying behind to teach the 4K class). That in itself is exciting for me! My babies are growing up! I don’t know if I am. Can I handle teaching both of them and do the comprehensive job they are getting here at Calvary Christian School … which they love! Can I make it interesting, exciting, challenging? Will I have the patience to answer both of them lovingly and patiently? Will I remember beginning algebra, science and history? These are some of the questions I am dealing with. I guess down in my heart I know I can do this. It just seems overwhelming right now. I have yet to decide on their curriculum so that is my biggest challenge right now. Please pray with me as I consult with experienced friends. I am so very thankful to be surrounded by people who know all about this.
I would love to have our school room addition all ready for me to move into and decorate on our arrival. That may not happen due to the huge cost. I am trying to prepare myself mentally for that but at the same time reminding God how nice it would be to see it completed. (That was one of the challenges Craig mentioned in our last letter.) We’ll be sure to let you know how God works that out for His glory.
School here in Derry, NH has been fun for Cody and Cheyenne. God put them in the exact classes they needed for our year at home. Cheyenne’s teacher, Ms. Mrock, is a grandmother and loves each of her students as they were her own grandchild. It is fun to see and hear Cheyenne mimic (in a good way) her. She has made learning an adventure for our very curious and strong headed daughter. Cody’s teacher, Mrs. Hensel, deserves a medal! Cody is one of 13 boys in the class and they are a live bunch! But they are a good bunch that gets along well and are very supportive of each other. Again, exactly what Cody needed. I thank God every day as I drop them off that God allowed us to be part of this school.
Well, that gives you a look into my heart about the school challenges we face. Our God has never let us down and He will not start now. Thanks for praying with us!
