Thank you so much for your prayers for me this summer. I had a wonderful time at home. \u00a0I have no idea how many places I visited or how many miles, all I know is that it was wonderful to be with family and spend the summer in Oregon! I was able to escape the desert heat this year! \u00a0Also,\u00a0I was able to spend time with each supporting church and visit a few others. It did my heart so good to see so many\u00a0people and visit with everyone, plus receive tons of encouragement.\u00a0 Eight weeks is a very short amount of time to be in Oregon, which\u00a0is what God allowed me this time.
\nAt the end of July, I started my journey back to Mexico. \u00a0In northern New Mexico I had to replace my A\/C in the car, but thankfully I was able to see some friends and they recommended a shop. \u00a0I made it back to Chihuahua at the beginning of August. We only had one week to get apartments set up for the new students before we started the year!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

New Semester. New Group. New Crazy!<\/u><\/strong>
\nWe are beginning fresh with a new group of students. \u00a0We currently have four students (I’m going to post their pictures below). \u00a0The two classes I’m teaching this semester are Time Management and the History of New Tribes Mission. \u00a0I’ve just finished my Time Management class. \u00a0This week the students are doing a practicum by implementing some of the tools we discussed during the class. \u00a0It’ll be exciting to see how they do, as time management for a Latino culture is difficult. \u00a0But I believe they will do great!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Bible Teaching Opportunity with Brenda<\/strong><\/u>
\nBrenda was the neighbor to one of my missionaries friends, but now she lives in the city near me. \u00a0Events earlier this year affected her and her family’s safety, so they had to move to the city. \u00a0My missionary friend had started studying the Bible with Brenda, but the events interrupted them. \u00a0After Brenda moved to the city, I picked up where my missionary friend left off.Teaching through the Bible is an honor and privilege. \u00a0Brenda is so excited to learn and she has been enjoying every story from Genesis that we’ve studied. This week we studied Noah, the Ark, and God’s promise to never flood the whole earth again. \u00a0Brenda was so surprised when she found out that the rainbow was actually a promise from God to us! \u00a0She has some very legalistic influences in her life (mother-in-law, and grandma), so I\u2019m praying she doesn\u2019t get distracted with “good works” as a means to salvation. Pray for wisdom for me in helping teach her, wisdom in knowing how to respond to their questions, and also for us both to not to get discouraged with the legalistic influence in her life.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Praises<\/strong>::
\n– for the wonderful time, I had this summer in Oregon. \u00a0I really needed the refreshment and encouragement.
\n– for a safe trip back to Mexico. \u00a0Only broke down once and had to replace the Air Conditioner in my car. (God has already provided for that repair!)
\n– an exciting new start to the semester, unity as a team, and students passionate about tribal missions.
\n– already finished one class: Time Management, now prepping for the next one!
\n– I just got over two weeks of being sick with allergies that turned into bronchitis. \u00a0I’m so thankful to be back to normal with enough energy to get my responsibilities done.Requests<\/strong>::
\n– in preparation for my next class: the history of New Tribes Mission (translated from English into Spanish).
\n– for my time with Brenda & her salvation (see above)
\n– our students as they are challenged each week with new classes, new habits, and more changes. \u00a0They are doing great, but can always use prayers.
\n– a work team is coming from Halfway, Oregon in November for two weeks to help with some projects at the Ranch. I’m in charge of their time. Please pray I can do it to the best of my ability and hopefully I won’t forget anything!
\n– our English Language Practicum is also coming in November and we currently have two couples planning on coming too. \u00a0Pray for us as we get things ready for their arrival.
\n– as always continue to pray for my safety and fellow missionaries here in Mexico.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
