Springtime in Oregon, there is nothing like it! \u00a0I have loved being in Oregon this spring for the snow & rain, flowers blooming, grass growing, all things spring! It has been so enjoyable to sit outside and just enjoy Eastern Oregon.<\/p>\n

\n

In December I came back from Mexico exhausted. \u00a0At least that’s what I told everyone. But looking back now, I’d say I had hit burnout. \u00a0The last year and a half, especially Fall 2017 took its toll on me.\u00a0 At the Ranch I was spending time studying for classes and barely keeping up, checking homework for 13 students, training a co-worker to take over the finances at the Ranch, and just living between interruptions. \u00a0Basically, my furlough came at the perfect time for me. \u00a0Before leaving Mexico, I had difficulty engaging in conversations, remembering my to-do list and errands, I had reached a point of mental and physical exhaustion.<\/p>\n

My plans for this furlough\/home assignment time had been: rest for a month, spend the time to work on classes, work on taxes, get some medical visits done, revamp my classes, update supporting churches and visit as many people as possible. \u00a0The reality has been that I needed more rest time just because\u00a0I was so rundown. \u00a0At some\u00a0point in March, I remember that I started to feel normal!\u00a0 And by normal, I mean being ready to get up before 10 am, exercise, start the day, and not needing a nap in the afternoon or needing to go to bed early. \u00a0Feeling normal in my mind too, comprehending what I’ve read,\u00a0being able to communicate and engage with people, remember my to-do list and driving directions. \u00a0Finally feeling normal is good!\u00a0 It’s what I’ve longed for and prayed for. Now I feel I’m ready to go back to Mexico and start a new semester serving at the Ranch.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Out and about in Oregon & sharing in churches.\u00a0 I’ve shared in 6 churches, Awana Camp, and this week I’ll share in a VBS!\u00a0 I never remember to take pictures of myself sharing, thankfully someone took a good picture of me!!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Fall 2018 English Practicum<\/strong><\/u>
\nThis year in November for three weeks we need 3-4 couples or singles to help our students in the English Practicum. The dates are Nov. 12-30. \n– So thankful for this encouraging time in Oregon on furlough\/home assignment.
\n– That I feel “normal” and can handle normal daily activities.

\n– Traveling back to Mexico August 3-7 with time in El Paso, TX to get a visa & car papers.
\n– Starting back up at the Ranch & different ministry responsibilities: more teaching and less of the business side at the Ranch!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Thank you for praying, supporting, and encouraging me during these years.\u00a0 I still can’t believe that I’ve served in Mexico for 8 years!\u00a0 I have loved seeing how God has worked in my life and the lives of people around me.\u00a0 I’m now ready to head back down and continue training the next generation of Latins to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the end of the earth!
