I just wanted to sit down and do nothing. Dale headed over to the baggage area and I sat down by the rental car check out and felt like I could sit there forever. I was hungry, nauseated, dizzy and goofy (I know I ‘m that way anyway at times) but somehow made it to the rental car. We almost made it to the hotel before I was super sick. I don’t even remember very much about those days except I was super sick…couldn’t eat, had a horrible sore throat, fever and very dizzy. All of our plans were instantly changed and we had to figure out our next step.
Sometimes God has STOPS along the way for each of us and this definitely was one of our stops!! We tried to get up to Oregon to visit my mom and sisters. In fact we made it as far as Grants Pass and then realized that I just wasn’t going to get better without some kind of antibiotic. We called back home and my doctor called in a prescription.
Now where should we go, LORD….we still didn’t know if we should keep going north or to stay in the motel in Grants Pass until we could see mom. During the night I started thinking about my dear Dad and how much the ocean meant to him and also to our family. So in the morning I told Dale that if we can’t go and see Mom I’d like to go to the ocean. He agreed and God made a way and somehow led us to the perfect beach. It was SO, SO beautiful and restful and once again we could see GOD in HIS creation all around us!! The mountains were on one side and the ocean on the other. We were right where the Roque River comes into the ocean. It was totally amazing!!
It was such a blessing to do nothing except to soak in God’s glory. The waves and trees were all singing to HIM and it was a time of thinking about HIM. I was still sick but GOD undertook and I praise Him for the way HE has taken care of us.
How in the world are we going to pay for these extra nights at hotels? We don’t know, but we do know who holds tomorrow and we also know that HE holds our hands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Do you ever have one of those days when all of your plans get changed??
