Praise the Lord for a good trip to Montana early this month! After driving through the beautiful green countryside of Central Montana, we had a great weekend with one of our faithful partner churches, Ulm Bible Church which is near Great Falls. From there we drove to Bozeman, arriving at the house where Greg and Pam were staying. (Picture: Nate, Grace, Katie, Hannah, Caleb)
That same day their family began testing positive for covid. They weren’t real sick, but after a few days with them, we felt the Lord’s leading to come home earlier than planned. We enjoyed some good family time, perhaps more so because we were all quarantined together during that time. We were disappointed not to be able to spend time at Evangelical Free Church in Bozeman. But we did not get covid!
The Embaloh Bible has not yet been sent to the printer. We are still getting permissions needed to print copyrighted pictures and finalizing the cover/spine.
After many delays, James and Rina will finally be able to formalize their engagement in her village (Embaloh tribe) on June 20th. Thanks for your prayers.
Darcy’s youngest grandbaby, Charissa, whom you prayed for when her mom had hepatitis and gave birth prematurely last December, is doing well. You can be praying for their plan to get check ups again next month. (Picture of Charissa with cousin Paro.)
These three delightful missionary candidates in training, all sent from our West Kalimantan churches, are Enna, Aprian and Rina. This picture was taken the night of Enna and Rommy, her husband’s graduation. We are so excited to see how the Lord continues to prepare them for His harvest field and provides for their every need. Rina, as you know, graduated from training last year and is doing a yearlong internship at the training center and preparing for marriage to James. Aprian has one more year to go and is spending the summer break making a vision trip to several of our tribal churches in the central part of the country. Enna and Rommy with baby Kendrick are planning to spend several months in her home village in the Gerai tribe of West Kalimantan.
As you can see from this recent photo, Grace (8th grade) is taller than her aunt Oke. Grace asks prayer for wisdom in making decisions about school in a couple of years when she graduates from Junior High School. Oke asks for prayer for wisdom in drafting 2 Kings portions in Semandang and also the Lord’s direction as she continues to work on her house. She is in the process of getting some materials to put in a floor in the upstairs room.
Doug is teaching at a Shepherd/Deacon fellowship time up in the middle of Kalimantan Island this week. What a surprise to learn that his podium was an old teak cupboard from the Berglund household of the early 70’s!
Last month we asked you to pray about Greg’s visa renewal. The answer to that prayer is that he will be returning earlier than the rest of the family in order to process his visa extension.
Praise & Prayer Requests:
- Pray for a good two months in the States for Greg and Pam and family.
- Pray for Doug’s upcoming trip to the States early next month.
- Pray for Rina and James’ formal engagement plans this month.
- Pray for the final pieces to fall into place for printing the Embaloh Bible.
- Praise for an encouraging time in Montana for the three of us.
Thank you for your faithful prayers,
