Since the first of the year, we have been working on memorizing John 1 together and it has really been a blessing to us. “In the beginning was the WORD…” “In Him was LIFE and that LIFE was the LIGHT of men…” “And the LIGHT shined in darkness…” There is so much there to meditate and focus on, all so very pertinent to the Christmas season…and all year long!

We are praising the Lord for answering your prayers for our family! The Lord has provided a job for James starting soon! Greg and Nate are back in Java and reunited with Pam, Katie, and Caleb. Hannah and Grace are settled in their home in Bozeman. Doug and Nancy are set up in their condo in Milwaukee near their kids and grandkids. So many answers to prayer! Thanks for holding up our family before the throne.

In mid-December Toti’, one of our Semandang daughters, gave birth to a precious little one, Charissa. She was born about 6 weeks ahead of schedule due to her mom having hepatitis, low amniotic fluid and being unable to keep anything down.

It is hard to be so far away when things like this happen, but it is wonderful to watch the body of Christ function caring for one another. So many were there to help her get to the hospital and to

and from doctor appointments. Toti’ and baby Charissa had recovered enough to return to their village Dec 31, in time to ring in 2022. They will head back to town for more checkups the middle of January. Please pray that the baby will continue to be healthy and that Toti’ would regain her health.

We’d like to ask you to pray this month for a young couple, Rommy and Enna Dondok and their 9-month-old son, Kendrick. They are in missionary training, preparing to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. This is their final semester, going into a tribe Jan 21 until sometime in March to experience applying all that they’ve learned. They will need a lot of prayer upholding them through this time. Since his surgery a few months ago, Kendrick is doing very well and growing like a weed.

Excerpts from Rina’s report:

“We are rejoicing and praising the Lord for your prayers throughout the process of doing the final read through of our Embaloh Bible. We have finished that step and now all that remains is the typesetting process for reprinting it. In that final read through our team experienced many challenges and often felt our inabilities but the Lord always helped us and gave us strength. God used your prayers in amazing ways to help us in this process.

“Besides that, Aunt Darcy and I have also been working on more booklets for the Embaloh people to read in their heart language so that they will develop a joy of reading and become fluent. I am so grateful for the team from our local church community who are working on these booklets with us, checking the stories that are in process. This book program has really been a blessing to adults and children alike.

“The 25 Favorite Bible story booklet in Embaloh that was printed last year has been distributed. It was meant for children, but many adults are enjoying it too. What really made me happy was that some of the readers had never heard the stories from creation to the ascension of Christ from the Bible. In addition, many older people are excited to be able to read it to their children and grandchildren. The kids love the beautiful pictures in the book. In one Embaloh village, some women were excited to read those stories in their heart language because they could easily understand it.
