Dear PRAYing friends and family,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We are so happy to bring a prayer update to you this month and share with you how we\u2019ve seen the Lord at work in us and in our worldwide team this month. We thank you for praying for dad\u2019s cataract surgery. He is well on the way in his recovery, faithfully doing his \u201cdrops\u201d 4 times a day! His vision is very good now. Mom is no longer getting shots for \u201cwet\u201d macular degeneration every 8 weeks but is on a 2 month \u201cwatch\u201d for bleeding just in case and a check in Billings twice a year. We had covid in January but are all back to normal now. We didn\u2019t really have any symptoms during that time, just some tiredness and sinus drainage. We enjoyed our time at home together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last month we asked specific prayer for the Dondok family who are several weeks into their \u201cpractical\u201d language and culture learning experience in the Tugutil tribe in north Maluku province. After settling in and finishing phonetic warm-up, they are now well into recording \u201cevents\u201d for language and culture learning, building relationships with the Tugutil people and enjoying a diet of fresh ocean fish every day! Enna misses the green vegies that she grew up with in Borneo and is taking advantage of all the produce growing around them in the jungle. They will continue this set up until the end of March when they will return to school. Their instructor came down with covid this week, so he will not be able to visit them during the middle part of their time to keep them on track. Please pray that they will be encouraged and stay focused as much as possible in applying what they learned in class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My literacy projects include translating the newly revised Ethnos360 Literacy Manual and Image Finder software into the national language for our national teams. My translation projects currently include updating Semandang BTEs (back to English) and drafting parts of the Old Testament book of Job. Oke is still working on drafting Judges into Semandang. My other projects include printing the Taman scripture portions and curriculum. The Embaloh Bible is being proof-read and we pray soon ready for printing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019ve been reading old letters from the early 70\u2019s and it\u2019s been such a blessing to us to see how the Lord worked in Asia-Pacific during the very early days after we arrived. There was lots to trust the Lord for as we spent the first year living in Central Java with Dad going back and forth to Jakarta almost every week. In December of 1971, we loaded on a cargo ship and made the week-long trip moving our family (including cat and all belongings) to join Kweders in West Kalimantan. On arrival in West Kalimantan, we also got our barrels (sent from Australia) through customs without a lot of trouble, and we also finally were granted semi-permanent visas which allowed us to stay and minister in Asia-Pacific. In March of 1972, we welcomed the Rittersbachs, Nancy\u2019s family as the third family to join us there with 2 more families on the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another week, our co-workers in West Kalimantan will be gathering for a time of fellowship together. How we wish we could join them. Would you pray with us that each family will be encouraged and strengthened through their fellowship time?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
