In 2017, the Lord prepared our hearts for a change of ministry and a change of location from Mindanao to Northern Palawan in the Philippines.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Since February 2018, we have been living and ministering with the Agutaynen people in a somewhat remote small fishing village. \u00a0We serve with our family, Stephen and Ginger Jordan and their children Abi, Luke, and Jonathan.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Stephen and Ginger\u2019s family have been in the village since 2003. \u00a0The first few years, they studied the Agutaynen language and culture. \u00a0In June 2009, they, along with Manfred and Nadine Zimmermann\u2019s family\u00a0began teaching the Bible to the Agutaynens in their own language.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Many have put their faith in Jesus alone for their salvation. \u00a0Now the ministry continues to center \u00a0on church planting, discipleship, \u00a0and evangelistic outreach in the village to neighbors for the Glory of God.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Missionary Journey of Faith from 1997-2017<\/u><\/span><\/h3>\n

After living in the jungle of Papua New Guinea from 1997 to 2008<\/strong>, we were asked to consider moving to the Philippines where we became NTM Guest House managers in Palawan because of our “maturity” and “practical experiences of living in a remote tribal village”. It was thought by the NTM Leadership that we would be able to relate to the needs of the missionaries since we had “been there” in their similar situations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Shows the airstrip plus our house, school and medical clinic. Villagers dug the airstrip on the side of the mountain by hand for 7 years so NTM could transport their coffee to Goroka. \u00a0Their only cash income of approximately $100 profit per year per family.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, we\u00a0moved from the jungle of Papua New Guinea to the city of\u00a0\u00a0Palawan to serve at NTM Guest Home in January 2008.<\/em><\/strong> We were Supply Buyers for the missionaries and Guest Home Managers. \u00a0Darryl was in charge of the grounds, buildings, and vehicle maintenance. \u00a0We were, also, involved as with Jacana Road Baptist Church.<\/p>\n

In November 2015, we became Guest House Managers of the New Tribes Mission Guest Home on the Island of Mindanao.<\/strong> \u00a0It has been a blessing to serve \u00a0the 18 families on the Island who either live in the remote bush places by providing the missionaries with a comfortable place to stay when they come to town. \u00a0It has, also, been a blessing to work side by side with \u00a0our pilots and their families who do live in town by helping with the plane fuel purchases and providing a place for \u00a0 prayer meetings and fellowship with the missionaries who do stay at the NTM Guest House enabling us all to get to know our missionaries better.<\/p>\n

Darryl spends most of his days with building and grounds’ maintenance chores. He supervises Delfin, our grounds maintenance Filipino worker. With 5 buildings that 7 guest rooms with bathrooms, 2 kitchens, a large living\/dining area, a workshop, a storage building, a packing building for missionary’s and pilots’ use, a laundry building and a large lawn area, Darryl is kept busy shopping for repair items in a town that has limited supply hardware items. \u00a0He, also, maintains the 2 vehicles that the missionaries “rent” by mileage when they come to the Guest House.<\/p>\n

Darryl maintains two vehicles so the missionaries have reliable transportation when in town. Repair parts are hard to find.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Becky works in the office preparing menus for the 3 meals daily offered to our guests, keeping the daily journals up-to-date, scheduling the bookings, shopping, cooking, and cleaning with our Filipino maid\/chef, Marlou, and overseeing the Community Fellowship meetings with those living in town.<\/p>\n

Brian and Bailey Pruett<\/a> and Josh and Candy Dalton<\/a> are NTM Aviation pilots who live in the same city.\u00a0 We work closely with them when they have flights into the bush places.\u00a0 We collect the missionary’s mail and packages and help them with getting all the right supplies on the plane or helicopter.<\/p>\n
