She\u00a0carries sweet potatoes, taro, spinach-like greens, and firewood on her back and head with a bush knife on top.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Women lead a hard life in Wusuraambya.\u00a0 They carry heavy loads from their gardens to their homes everyday because there is no refrigeration in the village.<\/p>\n<p>Often they hike one or two hours one way to their gardens since they are inherited and not necessarily close to their bamboo huts.<\/p>\n<p>Not only do the women carry vegetables but often we see them carrying\u00a0 firewood and a child along with the sweet potatoes, taro, and &#8220;greens&#8221;.\u00a0 Often the weight of what they are carrying exceed their body weight.
