Sports Camp was amazing! The team arrived safely here on Wednesday night. While they were here, they were able to participate in church, Youth Group, and a Believers\u2019 Tuesday Night Bible Study. They also witnessed six believers\u2019 baptism, and helped with the Sports Bible Camp. To experience some of the culture, they did a scavenger hunt in a local market, learned the basics of the Tagalog language, and participated in an \u201cAmazing Race.\u201d<\/p>\n

Monday to Thursday was the Sports Bible Camp. The theme of the Sports Bible Camp was the Wordless Book Colors which was represented by an Olympic flag. The girls played volleyball and the guys played basketball. Each team member was an assistant coach to one of the believers. Each day started with a Bible Study. For the girls, the Bible Study took place at our church, Faith Bible Church. For the guys, the Bible Study took place at the plaza (village basketball court). At the beginning of the Bible Study, one of the Wordless Book colors would be explained. Then the coach would read a tract to the players. After the Bible Study, the players would learn the skill of the day at the plaza and apply it in individual and team competitions.<\/p>\n

Thursday afternoon was the Championship Game. The players received jerseys and Wordless Book bracelets. Many family members came and cheered for their kids as they played in the Championship Games. For the kids twelve and under, there were parlor games which included a water balloon toss and water balloon fight. The kids also received Wordless Book bracelets. There were two volleyball games. One of the believers shared the salvation message. Then there was the basketball game. The losing teams each received a can of coke and a devotional. The winning teams each received a bottle of coke and a devotional. The top three volleyball and basketball players received a gold, silver, or bronze medal along with a volleyball or basketball. <\/p>\n

The coaches chose one volleyball player and one basketball player to receive the Most Valuable Player awards. Between games, raffle prizes were given to those who came to watch the players. One of the coaches told me later that she and her believing sisters were praying for an electric fan. Their unbelieving mother received an electric fan as a raffle prize. Please be praying that their mother would be led to the Lord along with the many villagers that heard the salvation message. <\/p>\n

The team flew back to the States on Saturday and made it safely in the States on Sunday. We greatly appreciate the help from the team, my grandparents (who did the cooking for all of us during the week), and the believers. Thank you for praying!<\/p>\n
