We’ll miss having you as part of our MK population here in the Philippines. But you’ll always be part of the NTM Philippines family, and we hope you’ll be back for visits!

For those who don’t know her, Rebekah is the oldest child of Steve and Ginger Jordan, who work on the island of Palawan amongst the Agutaynen people. Rebekah’s grandparents are also in the Philippines – Darryl and Becky Jordan who have most recently blessed the Mindanao missionaries by hosting the NTM Guest Home. What a heritage!

Steve and Ginger will be taking Rebekah back to the States mid-May, and she’ll be starting college later this year.

But we’ll let Rebekah tell you her story ….

Hi, my name is Rebekah Jordan.

Rebekah

My family moved to the Philippines in 2000, when I was one and a half. We moved to our village in 2003, where my parents work with the Agutaynens. I loved playing with the kids my age. In 2004, I accepted the Lord as my Savior. After I was saved, I wanted to share the good news with my friends. I taught a lesson to my friends about God creating the whole world. I think they enjoyed the pictures, but they probably didn’t understand what I was saying.

Rebekah at a younger age

My parents held a weekly Bible Study for the whole village in 2009. I made a sign so that all my friends would know about the Bible Study. I would help my parents by passing out the snacks at the Bible Studies. I tried to help in every way I could. As I grew older, I became more busy in keeping up with my Abeka school classes. I would get together with my Agutaynen friends on the weekends to play volleyball.

During the last two years, I was able to get more involved in my parents’ ministry. I was able to help with Youth Group, a Girls’ Bible Study for college-aged believers, and Kids’ Bible Club. I especially enjoyed helping with the Annual Sports Bible Camp. As a missionary kid, God has allowed me to see life in a new perspective and serve Him. I enjoyed seeing the body of Agutaynen believers grow. Six of my friends are now believers.

It is amazing to talk with these girls and encourage them in their walk with the Lord. I think the hardest part for me growing up was the language barrier, but God has blessed me with friends who speak English. I will definitely miss my life here in the Philippines, especially my friends and family. I will miss the little things too, like the dirt road in front of our house. I enjoyed helping my parents with their ministry. I am leaving the Philippines and starting college this year. I will be going to Cedarville University. I am hoping to major in English and minor in Bible and Creative Writing. I would appreciate prayer as I start college and adjust to life in the States. I know God will be with me always as I face this new change of my life.

Thank you for praying!

Rebekah

PS – Rebekah has made a lovely Youtube video called “Facing an Unfinished Task” showing a few highlights of her life – it’s less than 2 minutes long – please take the time to check it out! – https://youtu.be/gdL0pVpSlfc

CONGRATULATIONS to Rebekah Jordan, as she is soon to graduate from High School!
