Missions Emphasis Month

May 3, 2008 by

Dave and I offered to help during the Missions Emphasis Month at our church.

The theme is "Declare His Glory" from Psalm 96:3 – "Declare his glory among the nations, his wonders among all people."

On Sunday, May 4, we are doing a PowerPoint to present the missionaries Winter Springs Community Church supports.  The church has a personal history with three of the missionaries, but many in the current congregation do not know the connection or what the missionaries are doing.  So we have assembled pictures and stories to introduce our missionaries.

On Friday, May 9th, I will be giving my testimony at a Mother-Daughter Tea.

On Sunday, May 11,  we will be doing a presentation to help the congregation understand that it takes a team to reach tribal people, and they are part of that team.

On Sunday, May 18, we have invited a co-worker, Carol, to talk about translation and show a DVD of the dedication of the Yagaria New Testament. There will also be a Missions Banquet that day.

Each Sunday, Dave will be leading the worship time, with music focused on missions. And I will be doing special music on May 4th.

  • Pray for us to have strength during this busy month.
  • Pray that the church will grasp anew a vision for missions.
