When it rains, it pours.

August 23, 2008 by Dave and Ruth Brendle

Over the past 5 days, our area of Sanford has had 15 inches of rain, most of it on Thursday night and Friday.  We see pictures on the news of terrible devestation from local flooding, and are so thankful that we haven’t experienced it.

We worked on raking up tree debris today.  It was pretty dry this morning, but the showers started about 1.  So we worked between showers – until we just wanted to get it done and decided to finish up in the rain.

The St. Johns River is expected to flood by Tuesday. NTM’s USA Headquarters is located on Lake Monroe (which is a wide spot in this river). The NTM property didn’t experience flood damage during the 2004 hurricanes when Lake Monroe flooded. But there is much more water to drain into the St Johns than we have known in the past.

  • Pray that the USA Headquarters property will not experience damage when the St Johns River floods next week.
