\"DJB_110453\"Dave \u00a0took French in High School, but what he learned then\u00a0was far from what he needed today when he had to set\u00a0up a computer in French.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When\u00a0setting up a computer,\u00a0installing the keyboard is a first step.\u00a0 The French keyboard is different from the English keyboard.\u00a0 For example, the “w” on the French keyboard is where the “z” is on the English keyboard. Many other keystrokes are different as well.\u00a0 So from this initial step, there was the challenge of finding the right keys to spell words correctly.<\/p>\n

The easiest part was clicking on “yes” or “no” when those were the only buttons.\u00a0 The hardest part was\u00a0figuring out how to respond when the\u00a0boxes\u00a0had\u00a0choices.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\"DJB_110455\"<\/p>\n

Dave’s solution:\u00a0 He\u00a0set up two computers simultaneously – one\u00a0in English and one\u00a0in French.\u00a0 Most of the buttons and boxes\u00a0were in the same order, so he could read the choices in English, and make the choices on each.<\/p>\n
