{"id":129,"date":"2009-01-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-01-11T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-02-25T22:59:44","modified_gmt":"2010-02-26T02:59:44","slug":"joys-new-wheelchair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/dave-brendle\/2009\/01\/11\/joys-new-wheelchair\/","title":{"rendered":"Joy&#8217;s new wheelchair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--StartImportPhoto-->Because of Joy&#8217;s anatomy, she has had a really hard time getting enough oxygen while in a sitting position.\u00a0 Her home wheelchair reclines some, and she can sit in it for about an hour, long enough for physical theraphy.<\/p>\n<p>But her travel chair had become nearly useless.\u00a0 <!--more-->She could only tolerate 5 to 10 minutes in it.\u00a0 Longer than that and her skin turned clammy and her respiration rate would become rapid.\u00a0 We could use it to transport her from the car to the church pew, but that was about it.<\/p>\n<p>So for the last 6 months, whenever we were going out, one of us stayed home with her &#8211; either Dave, or Nathan, or me.<\/p>\n<p>No longer!\u00a0 We found an adult wheelchair that fully reclined.\u00a0 We found it in an on-line auction,\u00a0new in the box.
