Have you enjoyed the Olympics?\u00a0 I didn’t sit and watch very much of it, but\u00a0Joy enjoys watching TV, so we tuned her TV to the Olympics, and would\u00a0often pause with her to see what was happening.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I was so impressed with the dedication of those athletes.\u00a0 They are committed to their training – devoting time, braving the elements, fighting through injury – all to reach the goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I try to walk each weekday.\u00a0 Don’t always, because it’s too cold, or it’s raining, or I’m too sleepy.\u00a0 I can’t imagine having the dedication of an Olympic athlete.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

But I have thought a lot during these Olympic weeks about being dedicated to a different race, the one the Apostle Paul often refers to.\u00a0\u00a0Loving the\u00a0passage below:\u00a0<\/p>\n

Phil 3:12-14 – “I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be.\u00a0 No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,\u00a0I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.”\u00a0 (NLT)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
