Remember the kid\u2019s game called, \u201cGoing on a Bear Hunt!\u201d and the group leader would take us on an imaginary journey through the short grass, the tall grass, over the trees, through the swamp, etc. Recently, that game became real life when we were invited to friend\u2019s house across the river for a \u201cMambu\u201d.\u00a0 What’s a mambu you ask?<\/p>\n

\"???????????????????????????????\"<\/a><\/p>\n

A mambu is a delicious crock-pot style meal slow cooked PNG style in pieces of bamboo on a fire.\u00a0 It is full of greens, onions, peas, ginger, garlic and chicken.\u00a0 Amazing!! Even though the food is something to talk about, the really exciting part is getting there.\u00a0 Here goes….<\/p>\n

\"???????????????????????????????\"<\/a>Going for a mambu….<\/p>\n

\"???????????????????????????????\"<\/a>\"???????????????????????????????\"<\/a>Can’t go through it, gotta go over it (crossing the river on a hanging footbridge)<\/p>\n

\"???????????????????????????????\"<\/a>Going through the tall grass…<\/p>\n

\"???????????????????????????????\"<\/a>Can’t go through it, gotta go over it… (a pig fence around the houses)\"???????????????????????????????\"<\/a>\"???????????????????????????????\"<\/a>Then the delicious meal with friends when our Islands friends meet our Highlands friends.<\/p>\n

Now to head back a DIFFERENT way.\u00a0 Here goes…<\/p>\n
