The Night Before Christmas<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>by Dave Hilt 1984<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018Twas the night before Christmas, and all thru the jungles,<\/p>\n

A gentle rain falling, the bush lizards calling.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The dense jungle sang with a soft lullaby,<\/p>\n

No hope for the lost, they\u2019re left here to die.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The young and the old, the brave and the frail,<\/p>\n

With no life before them and destined for hell.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And I with my family, my riches, estate,<\/p>\n

Do never consider the heathen, their fate.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When out in the darkness rings death\u2019s bitter wail,<\/p>\n

Another one dies, no more to travail.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Away to the grave not having a chance<\/p>\n

To hear of the Savior, not even a glance.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The scriptures so clearly, they tell and they show,<\/p>\n

The fate of the heathen and where they will go.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Awake to the call, O Christian please heed,<\/p>\n

The lost and the dying, the Savior they need.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The nations are many, He tells us to go,<\/p>\n

The light of the gospel, to bear and to sow.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To Papua New Guinea and Africa too,<\/p>\n

And lands far beyond to mention a few.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There\u2019s Mexico, Thailand, and even Japan,<\/p>\n

Who still need to hear of salvation\u2019s great plan.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There\u2019s Paraguay, Panama, Ivory Coast,<\/p>\n

In naming them all, we\u2019d have a great host.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To the places about us, to the ends of the earth,<\/p>\n

Bear the news to all nations, giving life thru new birth.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As I heard of far places the gospels\u2019 not found,<\/p>\n

I thought of the heathen and how they are bound.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Their faces all painted with ashes and mud,<\/p>\n

And souls that are darkened by sins awful flood.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They\u2019re hungry and cold, with nothing to wear,<\/p>\n

The future before them, tis only despair.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Their eyes how they gaze with terrible fright,<\/p>\n

With no one to tell them that Jesus is Light.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And there in the stillness I read from the Word,<\/p>\n

The heathen are dying, have you heard, Have you heard?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We\u2019re quick to fulfill our dreams and our plans,<\/p>\n

No thought to His Word and all He commands.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We\u2019re busied with life, concerned with our wealth,<\/p>\n

No time left for others, enslaved to ourselves.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He\u2019s enabled, commissioned, and told us to spread,<\/p>\n

The light of the gospel, but we pass them instead.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What keeps us from going, Good News to proclaim,<\/p>\n

Do we lack in our faith, distrust in His Name?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

O Christians take thought to the heathen in strife,<\/p>\n

Take the message to all, give them hope, give them Life.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
