{"id":269,"date":"2017-03-04T22:53:29","date_gmt":"2017-03-05T02:53:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/?p=269"},"modified":"2017-03-04T22:53:29","modified_gmt":"2017-03-05T02:53:29","slug":"running-to-his-embrace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/2017\/03\/04\/running-to-his-embrace\/","title":{"rendered":"Running to His Embrace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-270\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/03\/Romans-8-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/03\/Romans-8-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/03\/Romans-8-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/03\/Romans-8-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/03\/Romans-8.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve ever wrapped your arms around someone you love then you know the exhilarating emotion that comes from such an embrace.\u00a0 Put time and distance between you and your loved one and the reuniting becomes even more precious.<\/p>\n<p>We recently visited our daughter and the three grandchildren in Arizona.\u00a0 It had been 14 months since we last seen them.\u00a0 \u00a0Make that 14 loonngg months!<\/p>\n<p>We made arrangements to pick up the kids from school when we arrived in Phoenix.\u00a0 The kids normally remain for an after school program but on this day they were summoned to the lobby for pickup.\u00a0 Little did they realize that their Gram and Pap would be waiting there for them.<\/p>\n<p>Each child entered the hallway, walking casually toward us.\u00a0 When they discovered us they ran, stopped, and looked to be sure they were seeing what they were seeing.\u00a0 They then ran to us with open arms.\u00a0 It was one of those sweet \u2018Ah-ha\u2019 moments you never forget.<\/p>\n<p>We had a swell time with the kids.\u00a0 Though only a week ago, I continue to revisit that afternoon when we first embraced.\u00a0 That surely was a precious moment for this soft-hearted pappy.<\/p>\n<p>But there is another precious moment I recall, and that moment was the day I ran to our Heavenly Fathers\u2019 arms to embrace faith in Jesus.\u00a0 I wonder if perhaps that was some kind of Ah-ha moment for God in seeing a rebellious sinner running to His embrace.<\/p>\n<p>One of the first truths expressed to me as a new believer in Jesus was the security we have in Christ \u2013that there is NOTHING that can ever separate me from His love.\u00a0 That certainly was refreshing news as Christ\u2019s forgiveness washed over me that day.<\/p>\n<p>As I contemplate the vast number of people living beyond the reach of the gospel I am thrilled to realize that once God\u2019s message reaches them that they too, will one day run to His embrace.<\/p>\n<p>In the meanwhile we are doing all we can to motivate God\u2019s people to consider their part in getting this \u2018Nothing can separate you from His Love\u2019 message to all the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you\u2019ve ever wrapped your arms around someone you love then you know the exhilarating emotion that comes from such an embrace.\u00a0 Put time and distance between you and your loved one and the reuniting becomes even more precious.
