{"id":288,"date":"2017-09-20T16:49:46","date_gmt":"2017-09-20T20:49:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/?p=288"},"modified":"2017-09-20T16:49:46","modified_gmt":"2017-09-20T20:49:46","slug":"its-not-a-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/2017\/09\/20\/its-not-a-game\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s Not A Game&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-289\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/09\/ETHNOS-GAME-300x155.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/09\/ETHNOS-GAME-300x155.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/09\/ETHNOS-GAME-125x65.jpg 125w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/09\/ETHNOS-GAME-250x129.jpg 250w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/09\/ETHNOS-GAME-450x232.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2017\/09\/ETHNOS-GAME.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Back in May we told you of the necessity of changing our organization name from New Tribes Mission to Ethnos360.\u00a0 <strong>Ethnos<\/strong>, having to do with ethnicities &#8211;all peoples, all languages, and all nations of [namely] unreached people.\u00a0 \u2026And <strong>360<\/strong> being global.<\/p>\n<p>But did you know there is a board game called Ethnos?\u00a0 It has nothing to do with Ethnos360 but I found the game to be quite interesting.\u00a0 The land of Ethnos contains twelve tribes of fantasy creatures.\u00a0 Players call upon the support of giants, merfolk, halflings, and minotaurs to help them gain control of the land.\u00a0 After three rounds of play, whoever has collected the most glory wins!<\/p>\n<p>Wow, the innuendos of such a game contrasted to the reality of what we do in reaching those outside the hearing of the gospel certainly is not for our glory, but for God alone.\u00a0 You see, God\u2019s desire in creating man was for His own glory\u2026 for man to be fruitful and multiply and to fill the earth with the same kind.<\/p>\n<p>That leads us to ask \u201cWith \u2018what kind\u2019 did God expect Adam and Eve to fill the earth?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well, since Adam and Eve were created in God\u2019s image we come to understand that they were godly people.\u00a0 &#8211;So God\u2019s intent was for Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply and to fill the earth with godly people.\u00a0 But we know that Adam and Eve failed in that task so God began unveiling a plan of how He would receive such glory.<\/p>\n<p>Fast-forward to Genesis 12: 3 and we find God making a promise to bless all nations thru Abraham and his descendants.\u00a0 From that genealogy the blessing to all nations was carried forth in the birth of Jesus, His death, His burial and His resurrection from the grave.\u00a0 We call that the gospel.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026And it is thru Him, Jesus, that all nations (ethnic nations of people, tribes, and languages) will be blessed.\u00a0 When Jesus gave the command to \u2018make disciples of All nations\u2019 He was asking us to join in the effort of filling the earth with godly people, and in so doing, we will bring the most glory to God.<\/p>\n<p>Reaching those who never heard of Jesus is not a game.\u00a0 \u2026And our efforts to go to hard places are not for our glory, but for God\u2019s glory in reaching lost souls for Christ.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Back in May we told you of the necessity of changing our organization name from New Tribes Mission to Ethnos360.\u00a0 Ethnos, having to do with ethnicities &#8211;all peoples, all languages, and all nations of [namely] unreached people.\u00a0 \u2026And 360 being global.
