{"id":360,"date":"2019-09-02T12:55:01","date_gmt":"2019-09-02T16:55:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/?p=360"},"modified":"2019-09-09T12:59:06","modified_gmt":"2019-09-09T16:59:06","slug":"have-you-ever-heard-of-the-incredibly-extravagant-generosity-of-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/2019\/09\/02\/have-you-ever-heard-of-the-incredibly-extravagant-generosity-of-god\/","title":{"rendered":"Have you ever heard of the incredibly extravagant generosity of God?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"279\" height=\"292\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2019\/09\/image-8.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2019\/09\/image-8.png 279w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2019\/09\/image-8-105x110.png 105w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2019\/09\/image-8-239x250.png 239w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2019\/09\/image-8-242x253.png 242w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 279px) 100vw, 279px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I would assume most individuals reading this\nnewsletter <em>have<\/em> <em>heard<\/em> of the incredibly extravagant generosity of God but perhaps\nnever stated in such expressive words.&nbsp;\nMaybe you\u2019re thinking \u201cWhat\u2019s that?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We throw around words like mercy and grace, sometimes\nwithout ever pondering their deeper meaning.&nbsp;\nWell today while reading one of the many English translations I have of\nthe Bible I came upon these stimulating words\u2026 <strong>the incredibly extravagant generosity of God. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wow, it felt like every book on the shelves came\ntumbling down upon me and buried me beneath an avalanche of fresh awareness.&nbsp; &#8211;Not an avalanche of mere human words and\nunderstanding, but a new perspective on the magnificent\noutpouring of God\u2019s grace.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ah, grace\u2026 that simple little five-lettered word\nwe often take for granted.&nbsp; It was in\nActs 20 where I saw the grace of God encased in a phrase with\nsuch depth of meaning.&nbsp; The gospel itself\nis a compelling message but it becomes even more\nimpacting when you consider the actors in the provision of salvation.&nbsp; \u2026And in \u2018acting\u2019 I am not talking playwright\nor theater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You see, long before the creation of the world God thought out a redemptive plan for mankind.  God knew Adam &amp; Eve would mess up the command to \u2018be fruitful and multiply, and fill the the earth.\u2019\u00a0 That is to say, God\u2019s desire in creation wasn\u2019t merely to place a couple in a garden He created, but to give them purpose in reproducing godly offspring \u2013fill the earth with the same  kind.&nbsp; God\ndesired fellowship and communion with those He created though Adam &amp; Eve\nfailed in that task as everyone of us were birthed in\nsin due to their fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here I stand as one forgiven, my sin covered\nby the blood Jesus shed on the cross.&nbsp;\n\u2026And standing not only as a forgiven one, but &nbsp;by believing His death, burial and resurrection\nI now stand as a redeemed one bought back by the incredibly extravagant\ngenerosity of God.&nbsp; Moreover, I possess\nthe promise of a heavenly home in the very presence of Jesus.<strong>&nbsp; <\/strong>Now\nthat\u2019s extravagant generous grace!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a recipient of that grace, the beloved apostle\nPaul declared in Acts 20:24 \u201cWhat matters most to me is to finish what God\nstarted: the job the Lord Jesus gave to me of letting everyone I meet know all\nabout this incredibly extravagant generosity of God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you feel a sense of gratitude and duty when you read those words?\u00a0 I do.\u00a0 Jesus himself punched up this thought when He said \u201cAll authority is given me on heaven and on earth.\u201d\u00a0 And then He said \u201cbecause of this authority <em>\u2013the power of God<\/em>, I am commanding you to go and make disciples (followers) among all nations.\u201d\u00a0 That\u2019s not talking about countries and counties and towns\u2026 that\u2019s talking about the ethnic peoples of the world.\u00a0 Think of that\u2026 we get the privilege of letting others know about Jesus.<br> <br>We continue looking for those who will make it their aim in joining the thousands of missionaries who are declaring this message to those living in areas of the world without a gospel witness.\u00a0 \u2026And in so doing, I believe we can hasten the Lord\u2019s return as we are faithful to declare the gospel\u2026 the incredibly extravagant generosity of God to all mankind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I would assume most individuals reading this newsletter have heard of the incredibly extravagant generosity of God but perhaps never stated in such expressive words.&nbsp; Maybe you\u2019re thinking \u201cWhat\u2019s that?\u201d We throw around words like mercy and grace, sometimes without ever pondering their deeper meaning.&nbsp; Well today while reading one of the many English translations [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":276,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_genesis_hide_title":false,"_genesis_hide_breadcrumbs":false,"_genesis_hide_singular_image":false,"_genesis_hide_footer_widgets":false,"_genesis_custom_body_class":"","_genesis_custom_post_class":"","_genesis_layout":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-360","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-uncategorized","7":"entry"},"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/360","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/276"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=360"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/360\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=360"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=360"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=360"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
