{"id":412,"date":"2021-05-12T18:43:41","date_gmt":"2021-05-12T22:43:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/?p=412"},"modified":"2021-05-12T18:43:43","modified_gmt":"2021-05-12T22:43:43","slug":"questions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/2021\/05\/12\/questions\/","title":{"rendered":"Questions&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"191\" height=\"196\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2021\/05\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2021\/05\/image-5.png 191w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-hilt\/files\/2021\/05\/image-5-107x110.png 107w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 191px) 100vw, 191px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Questions we are often asked: How can I know God\u2019s will for my life?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re often asked during our ministry engagements \u2013by young and old alike, how can I know God\u2019s will for my life? &nbsp;It seems to be an age-old question most believers seek to understand.&nbsp; But I believe we\u2019ve been asking the wrong question, the result of being distracted from God\u2019s intent for our lives.&nbsp; You see, our perspective of God\u2019s will for our lives often misses the purpose of why we were created.&nbsp; God created us that we might glorify Him through our lives.&nbsp; So it\u2019s not about who we will marry, where we will live, or what we will do.&nbsp; It is God\u2019s desire for us to live as Christians committed to His purpose.&nbsp; As one of our ministry colleagues stated, \u201cWe should be asking, \u2018What is God\u2019s will and how do I fit into it?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is God\u2019s will that none perish. It is God\u2019s will that all men come to repentance.&nbsp; \u2026So if it is God\u2019s will that none perish and that all men come to repentance, we\u2019ve got to ask ourselves \u201cWhat are we doing to fulfill his will?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus went to the cross to pay the penalty of sin for everyone.&nbsp; But not everyone in the world knows that.&nbsp; Millions of people are still waiting to hear the gospel although they don\u2019t know they are waiting to hear; they are lost in their sin.&nbsp; Lost men don\u2019t know they need to repent because they don\u2019t know what it means to acknowledge their sin.&nbsp; They, like many here, think they are pretty good in spite of sinful lives.&nbsp; Pretty good doesn\u2019t get anyone into heaven.&nbsp; The real question is \u201cWhat are we doing to change eternity for those who haven\u2019t heard the gospel?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Here\u2019s how that played out for us\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We embraced God\u2019s purpose to impact lost people at our workplace more than forty years ago.&nbsp; Then we began reaching out to those in our community\u2026 it seemed there was something more we should be doing to impact people for Christ.&nbsp; Then we learned of those living in hard to reach places of the world that needed Jesus.&nbsp; We left our jobs to pursue training and equipping to go to unreached areas of the world to reach such ones.&nbsp; God gave us many years serving in PNG.&nbsp; We\u2019ve gone full-circle in reaching lost people and now we get to mobilize others who can go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ok, it really isn\u2019t about \u2018how things played out for us\u2026\u2019 it was actually responding to the commission Jesus gave to make disciples.&nbsp; He was very specific about this when he ascended back to heaven and told his followers to be his witnesses.&nbsp; He didn\u2019t ask \u201cDo you think you might want to do this? or \u201cCould you make some time to impact lost people?\u201d He said \u201cDo it.\u201d&nbsp; I think that\u2019s pretty simple, don\u2019t you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We realize every Christian will never go to the hard to reach areas of the world to impact lost people for Jesus \u2013what we call \u2018missions.\u2019&nbsp; But we do know Jesus wants us to be witnesses\u2019 right where he\u2019s placed us; that\u2019s being responsible Christians.&nbsp; Responsible Christians understand the importance of sharing and sending and supporting those who serve in missions.&nbsp; It\u2019s a team effort.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Questions we are often asked: How can I know God\u2019s will for my life?
