Since late July we have been in Turlock, California,
where we will spend the remainder of our home assignment/furlough until we return to Brazil on December 29, 2012.
Our time back “home” has been exceptionally refreshing. We’ve enjoyed seeing family and friends along our cross-country trek from Florida to Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee,
Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Washington, and finally to California. We are grateful to the Lord for safety in our travels.
Our children are enrolled in a public charter school based out of Keyes, CA. After the adjustments–mainly with computers and the internet–they are now doing well. (Thank you, Tom & Jan–David’s cousin–for lending us a computer for our kids to use for school!)
At our home church our children are also enjoying the involvement with their peers in their respective junior high and senior high groups.
We’ve enjoyed activities with friends and family. We’ve also had opportunities to share our ministry in Brazil.
Regarding our ministry at PQQ, please pray for the following:
- Unity and effective team dynamics
- More teaching staff–math, English, science, and history teachers (grades 7-12), 2 elementary teachers (grades 1-6)
- Urgent need for a couple (or 2 singles) who desire to cook full-time in the school cafeteria
- Urgent need for the development of an affordable distance education (home school) curriculum by a Christian university–UniEvangélica–in Brazil for the children of our Brazilian missionaries
Thank you so much for partnering with us in seeing the indigenous people of Brazil reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Grace to you,
David & Angie, Aaron, Aleah, Dayton, and Derek
