David And Shari PASS Language Check #2!
Thank you for praying. Two experienced language consultants came out to the bush and checked us. It took three long days but we are happy to say that we both passed the test. We still have two more levels of study where we will really be working to bring up the speed of our speech. We will also be getting into new areas of discourse study that will help us to better join sentences together.
The Simbari Team Together Again!
Our co-workers Dennis and Jeanne Best have returned from their furlough and we are all together again now. Dennis will be working on literacy materials, translation and teaching while the rest of us continue in language study working toward our 3rd test. Pray that God would speed us along in our thinking and speaking of the Simbari language.
Tractor?
Yes, we still are in need of a small Kubota 4WD tractor to be used to maintain our airstrip. We are also looking into installing a small hydroelectric power generator. A hydro providing a constant source of power to our batteries and houses would be a blessing. We only average 2 hrs. of sun per day so the solar panels are not efficient and it is expensive to fly in drums of fuel for our generator.
Family Update:
- Esther started 1st grade in July and is doing very well at Numonohi Christian Academy.
- Simon is 4 and loves to take things apart and watch his daddy work.
- Rachel is about 14 months old and is walking all over now and loves trying to talk.
Please continue to pray for us and the Simbari Tribe.
