Dear Praying Friends,
One of the Simbari believers named Jipminandam just testified of how his wife came to trust in Christ. Jipminandam has helped our co-worker, Dennis, often with Bible translation. He and his wife also regularly listen to the teaching of God’s Word. A number of months ago his wife, Wachalambiyav, was having birthing complications and they feared for her life.
The average Simbari might go to the man in the picture for healing or magic in such a situation. Many believe they will receive power, strength or healing from plants, animals, or spirits. BUT, the Light is beginning to penetrate the darkness of this region. God’s Word is now planted in the hearts of the Simbari believers and the result is that a few people, by faith, are looking to El Shaddai (The Almighty God) for strength and healing.
When Jipminandam feared for his wife’s life he held her in his arms and called out in prayer, “Help her Jesus!” and not long afterwards the baby was born strong and healthy. Wachalambiyav sat with a big smile on her face as her husband described this and how afterwards she had put her faith in the blood of Jesus. Another light in this land of darkness and what a joy to our ears!
We appreciate your prayers:
- A while ago a man named We’wenjal fell from a tree and broke his back. He was temporarily paralyzed from bruising of the spinal cord but now he is back here in the bush and walking around with a cane. He still has a lump protruding from his back where it was broken. Continue to pray that God would draw this man to himself.
- Our airstrip was closed during the beginning of the wet season forcing us to use a helicopter in December. The people here have made some repairs and the strip has been able to stay open even though we having been getting lots of rain. (Our yearly average is 180 inches!) Please continue to pray about our need for a tractor.
- Please continue to pray for our language study. We are hoping to take our next language check in the fall.
