October 1991 Greetings From Papua New Guinea

October 4, 1991 by David and Shari Ogg

Greetings From Papua New Guinea!

We arrived here in the highlands of P.N.G. on June 10, 1991. Praise the Lord for:

  • Four years of excellent missionary training
  • Your prayers and gifts to support our ministry
  • God bringing us to Papua New Guinea to serve Him
  • and also for our new son:

Simon Gordon Ogg

  • Born:     October 2, 1991
  • Time:     4:00 a.m.
  • Weight:     9 lbs. 11 ozs.
  • Length:     23 ½ in.

“Marvelous are thy works and that my soul knoweth right well.”   Psalm 139:14

Since arriving in June we have been living in the jungle in a house made mostly of bamboo and learning the trade language. A balanced amount of time is spent both in studying our books and in visiting with the people. We have really enjoyed developing relationships with the people. We will be completing our trade language study and orientation in about three months. We will then be surveying areas in tribal villages in which to build a house and begin a permanent ministry. We must learn the language and culture of the people before we can begin to clearly teach them the Word of God.

Please Pray for:

  • Our trade language learning
  • Shari’s quick recovery from the birth of Simon.
  • Funds for building a house in the tribe ($5,000-$10,000)
  • Increased monthly support
  • Our cargo to arrive soon. It is two months late.
