Our first grandchild has arrived!<\/h3>\r\n

Our oldest daughter, Esther, and her husband, Tim, shared this about the birth of their first child: “We welcomed Daniel Alden Lawrence into the world on May 27, 2020 at 5:45pm. He was 6 days overdue, but teeny tiny at 5lbs 9oz. It was an unplanned C-section due to some unforeseen complications, but he is happy and healthy and we are so thankful.” We are so excited for them and are planning a short visit to see them and the baby. Shari wants to be able to help Esther as much as possible while she heals from the C-section.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

August Wedding<\/h3>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Last year our youngest, Jason, began studying at Ethnos360 Bible Institute in Wisconsin and has now finished his first year. Soon after arriving he met Geordon who is also a student there, and they are now engaged! They are serving at a Christian camp in Ohio this summer and after the camp is over they plan to be married in August. A few weeks after the wedding they plan to start their second year of Bible college.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Jason and Geordan just came out from Ohio to spend a few weeks with us so we could meet Geordan before the wedding. We enjoyed our time together and were still able to squeeze in a few outings even though most things were locked down. They were busy with work for school and camp much of the time and we were busy with translation, but a few of the days after work we were able to get out to Ventura beach, to Vasquez Rocks, and to hike the hills in our area. They headed back to Ohio today, so please pray for safe travels and for their camp ministry this summer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Proof-Reading Translation<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We continue proof-reading the 10,000 verses of Simbari translation to get it ready to print. This reading has a different emphasis than the previous checks we have done. We are looking for anything that still might sound unnatural and making notes (like an editor would if they knew the language). David calls his translation helper about once a week spending hours on the phone talking through the notes. He is about 40% done with this step of proof-reading. There is probably another 2 or 3 months of proof-reading to do. Keep praying for wisdom. Please pray also for the Simbari church and it’s leaders.
