We have received word that the container ship carrying the Simbari Bibles has arrived in Papua New Guinea and the palettes of Bibles have been offloaded. They are still in the port city waiting to be trucked up to our mission center in the highlands. Please pray that they will be delivered soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prepping for Travel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We have been very busy with all the preparations for our trip to PNG. We had to apply for visas, book international tickets, book guest houses and mission flights into the village. Thanks to everyone who sent special gifts towards all the travel expenses. The gifts covered our tickets and we were able to help our son, Simon, with his ticket expenses as well. In the midst of all the preparations for travel, David was also able to draft some training resources in the Simbari language. One is a basic hermaneutics guide and another is a topical lesson on how to understand the Old Testament Covenants in light of the New Covenant. We leave for PNG this week and plan to stay for 2 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bible Dedication<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Please pray for good weather and good attendance for the Bible dedication scheduled to be held in mid-September. Also please pray for the Simbari church as they plan the details of the dedication and that above all it will lift up the name of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Area Conference and Elder Training<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Last month a group of Simbaris hiked over the mountains to another people group to attend an area conference for believers from many people groups. Over 500 people attended from over 6 language groups! As an extension of the conference there was also an elder training workshop that 4 Simbari men were able to attend. Pray for lasting growth and encouragement from their time at conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
