Our recent updates have focused on the big picture of NTM’s ministry or our family updates. But I haven’t said much about our specific responsibilities with New Tribes Mission or how our new ministry is going.
I LOVE IT!
When we transitioned from Papua New Guinea back to the US last year, we looked forward to working with the Communications team. It’s a great team, very open and collaborative. How good to work with people who love the Lord and have a passion to see His name magnified!
What Our Team Does
NTM exists to see remote people groups reached with the gospel and brought to spiritual maturity. How in the world do writers, photographers, videographers, web developers and the like fit into that? We are the storytellers. Stories of God building His church around the world. And we invite His people to join in His work by praying, giving and going. These stories are told through NTM’s website, print, photo and video media.
Where I Fit In
My niche is maintaining NTM’s website and providing resources for our missionaries to excel in their ministries. But I also get to have my hands in a lot of other facets of the team—writing and editing the prayer update emails and NTM@work magazine, digital asset management, video, and I especially enjoy strategizing with the team how we can move forward to further His kingdom.
There’s a lot in the works—from cataloging 3000+ photos from our photographer’s recent trip to the Philippines, to brainstorming upgrades to NTM’s website, to an upcoming video about how you can use your career skills in missions.
Besides keeping the household running, taking children to get wisdom teeth removed, fixing our truck (and doing it well), and homeschooling our five youngest children, Michelle invests time with our ministry partners. As things settle down a bit, we hope that she will be able to use her writing skills on the communications team as well. But, she is already an integral part of our ministry.
It’s really a privilege to serve the Lord by using my skills and passions in communications as part of the church planting team. Thank you for partnering with us in prayer and finances to allow us to minister.
