“When I was a kid, the only thing I ever thought I would do when I grew up was plant marijuana. I didn’t know anything else. But, now, my future plan is to go to work in an ethnic group, whether in my own ethnic group or another ethnic group. I want…to go to teach the word of God to people who have not heard anything about Christ our savior.” – Vicente
Vicente is a 20-year-old Guarijio man who just graduated from our Bible Institute here in Chihuahua. He graduated at the top of his class, which is amazing since he only has a 6th grade education. Vicente has now officially joined missionary Terry Reed & the Guarijio Bible translation team.
Here is a sample of Vicente’s translation work, Romans 5:1 in Guarijio: “Riosí tamo neʼnena epe kaweruma arewáeme tamo pichikérichi Esusi. Pamila Esukrísto isirichi reme mochiwí moena Riosí peja.” (“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”) Pray for God’s wisdom & guidance in this essential work for both Vicente & the entire Guarijio translation team.
