The Past
In 1989, after 10 years involvement in business, we felt led to leave the corporate world & surrender to full-time missionary work. The burden of our heart was to take the Gospel where there was little or no missionary work being done.
During the first half of the 1990’s we founded Voice in the Wilderness Ministries and distributed over 15,000,000 tracts, 100,000 New Testaments, thousands of Bibles & other Gospel literature in 15 countries on 4 continents. The majority of our work was in the former Soviet Union & its republics.
With the help of another missionary family from our home church, we started a Bible Correspondence School in Riga, Latvia which saw over 1,500 people from all across the former Soviet Union trust Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
During the last half of the 1990’s we were involved with Christian Education through Accelerated Christian Education (also known as the School of Tomorrow). This included David being the Dean of Administration over their college (the International Institute) & working with their curriculum distribution warehouses in Canada, England & the CIS.
In 1999 we moved to Paraguay, South America & David became the Director of ACE’s operations for all of southern South America. After 2 1/2 years in that role, ACE sold the operation to a ministry out of Brazil. Although we had the opportunity to return to the States & continue on with ACE, we felt the Lord would have our family remain in Paraguay as independent missionaries once more.
Through Bible studies, Kids Club, a Puppet ministry & Vacation Bible School efforts, we had the privilege of planting a church in the capitol, Asunción.
After serving in Paraguay for 6 years, we returned to the States for a much-needed furlough. Once back, and after much prayer, we made a change in our ministry.
The Present…and Future
After two decades as independent missionaries, we felt the Lord’s leading to join New Tribes Mission and become part of a 3,000+ team of missionaries reaching the unreached around the world.
As a result, we are now helping plant New Testament churches among the 40 unreached people groups of Mexico.
We are thankful that the Lord has led us to join NTM as it has the same focus as our family’s ministry has always had: Going where others don’t in order to reach the unreached!
