{"id":8,"date":"2009-02-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-02-21T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-03-16T16:14:06","modified_gmt":"2010-03-16T20:14:06","slug":"mission-center-west-kalimantan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-searcy\/2009\/02\/21\/mission-center-west-kalimantan\/","title":{"rendered":"Mission Center for West Kalimantan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--StartImportPhoto--><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-searcy\/files\/2009\/02\/756_53458.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-104\" style=\"margin-right: 10px;margin-bottom: 5px\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/david-searcy\/files\/2009\/02\/756_53458.jpg\" alt=\"Building a mission center for Putussibau\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a><!--EndImportPhoto--><\/p>\n<p>We continue to have input with the Church leaders of 4 tribes NTM has worked in in West Kalimantan island, however we are no longer living in the Punan village in the duplex we built to assist Rachel.\u00a0 Her brother&#8217;s family has joined her to take on that ministry.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We felt the need to have a center to assist them and others moving into our area to be able to get supplies out to them and also as a home away from home as they move in and out of the area.\u00a0 We started building in Oct. and have just about finished it up.\u00a0 The picture was taken mid Jan.\u00a0 Since then we have moved in and are working on finishing up the minor details to make it a comfortable stop over for our families.<\/p>\n<p>Our more central location makes it easier to work with church leaders in the whole area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are changing our ministry emphasis in order to be a blessing to all the missionaries in the Upper Kapuas area.  Right now we have two teams.  One is the Punan  which consists of Rachel Searcy and DJ and Jennifer Searcy family working on the Punan translation.  The other is the Da&#8217;an team that is just moving in to complete the Da&#8217;an translation.
