Verse for the day:
Num 23:19 God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
God, you tell us in Numbers 23:19 that you are not a man, so you don’t lie! You are not human, so you don’t change your mind. You have never spoken and failed to act. You have never promised and not carried it through! In James 1:5 you promised to grant wisdom to those who ask. Prov 2:6 you remind us that you are the one who grants wisdom. In Prov 4:7 you reminded me this morning that getting wisdom is the wisest thing we can do! Wisdom only comes from you. We need to take hold of your words of wisdom, and not let go. You promise that your words of wisdom will bring life to those who find it. (Prov 4:21-22).
I pray today for you guys that whatever you are doing today, that God will give you the wisdom that you need to do your job, that God will also grant you wisdom for working with your coworkers and for displaying God to those around you. I pray that you will take hold of God’s wisdom and not let it go (Prov 4:13). That as you treasure up God’s word in your heart (Matt 6:33), that His word, and His character will bubble out of you in your relationships with others.
I pray today that you will be God’s instrument to put flesh and blood to His words. Just like John described of Jesus in John 1:14 and 18. “The Word became flesh… and we have seen HIS glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. He has revealed God to us.” I pray that God will use you to reveal Himself to those you interact with today.
God also reminds us to guard our hearts above all else. The Lord knows that what our hearts treasure will determine the course of our lives (Prov 4:23; Matt 6:21). Jesus reminded us that it’s not the outside influences that make us evil, it’s what we treasure in our hearts (Luke 6:45). It’s the things that we have treasured that have a way of bubbling to the surface. (Mark 7:20-23) I pray today that God will be the treasure of your heart today.
