From this passage, what Spiritual Gift has God given for me to thank Him and praise Him for in worship today? (Rom 1:11)
Ps 93:1 The LORD is king! He is robed in majesty. Indeed, the LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.
No matter what is going on around me, these words are ALWAYS true! My world stands firm and cannot be shaken, because the Lord is robed in majesty, and armed with strength! It’s not because I am armed with strength, but because He is! I am weak and broken. I certainly don’t feel strong. I am more emotional and feel myself tearing up sometimes at the littlest thing these days. But I choose to walk in these truths, even when i don’t feel it.
What are the stressors in your life? What is “shaking” your world right now? Take a minute to list them out. (When I did that this morning, my list was pretty long.) Then claim this truth that because God is armed with strength, and you are in His arms, your world stands firm and cannot be shaken!
What encouraged me in my faith? (Rom 1:12)
2 Thess 1:2 May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.
2 Thess 1:7 And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels,
He will provide rest when He appears. He will come with his mighty angels. Like Elisha who said, “There are more with us than with them. Open his eyes to see.” (2 Kings 6:17) In the midst of everything going on right now, God’s presence is what gives us rest! I don’t know what your stressors are, but I pray today that these words will give you peace.
As I deal with my emotions and all the uncertainty with my dad’s cancer diagnosis as well as the other stressors in my life right now, I know peace only comes from God’s presence and dependence on Him. I pray for your peace and comfort today! May you feel the presence of God and His mighty angels!
What spiritual fruit does God want to work in me? What can I share with others that God can use to produce fruit among them also? (Rom 1:13)
2 Thess 1:11-12 So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.
I pray that God will enable you to live worthy of Him. I pray He will “give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith has prompted you to do.”
This morning as I begin this day, I recognize that I will ONLY be strong in you and mighty through YOUR power. I acknowledge that in me, there is nothing worth depending on, and that everything is by your intervention and working. This is true for those I am praying or also!
This is not just a dream or picture of a vain imagination. I claim Eph 3:20-21 by faith: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen”.
Imagine it, believe it, acknowledge dependence on Him. The Crucified one (I am dead to self and alive with Christ), The Risen one (the power that raised Jesus from the dead is mine through His resurrected life dwelling in me (Eph 1:19-20), The Glorified one (not just heaven someday, but Jesus glorified, in me, today). It’s His life within that will accomplish it.
