What Spiritual Gift has God given for me to thank Him and praise Him for in worship today? (Rom 1:11)
1 Tim 3:15 (Defining the qualifications of elders) so that if I am delayed, you will know how people must conduct themselves in the household of God. This is the church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth
The church is a tremendous gift. Paul defines it as the pillar and foundation of the truth! Wow, that’s quite a statement. It’s also sobering that in the same verse he says he is writing this so that people with know how to conduct themselves in the church, so as to uphold and enhance God’s design for the church to be the pillar and foundation of truth!
What encouraged me in my faith? (Rom 1:12)
Imagine reopening the temple and being able to worship God for the first time (2 Chron 29:1-3. What would that worship be like?
Psalm 96:5-7 Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the Lord made the heavens!
What spiritual fruit does God want to work in me and in those I share this with today? (Rom 1:13)
2 Chron 29:3, 16-17 King Ahaz had gone so far away from God that he had closed up the temple and forbidden God’s people from worshipping there. When Hezekiah became king after him, he reopened the temple. Then he reinstated the priests and the levites and tasked them with cleansing the temple. It took them 16 days to rid the temple of all it’s idolatrours and defiled things.
What does our heart look like?
What if I started each day, as if I am opening the temple for the first time? Taking time to remember all God has done, and proclaim it to myself in this new day… then carrying that picture with me throughout the day..
1 Tim 3:15 If how we act is a reflection of the church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth… how does my life enhance or detract from that?
